Delegation from Chiang Mai University, Thailand, visits Hokudai

Delegation from the Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University in Thailand visited Hokkaido University on Tuesday, September 9th.

Department of Public Health, Graduate School of Medicine, Hokkaido University welcomed the delegation from Thailand, and hosted the meeting to introduce and discuss the medical education systems and public health issues in Japan and Thailand.

Prof. Otaki of Medical Education Development Center made a presentation on Medical Education in Japan.

Prof. Tamakoshi, Dept. of Public Health delivered a talk on issues relating Public Health in Japan.

Meeting was followed by the seminar to introduce the recent research achievements of both universities.

Chiang Mai University was founded in 1964. The Faculty of Medicine was first founded as a Medical School in 1959, and was transferred to be the faculty of Chiang Mai University in 1965. It is now the largest medical school in northern Thailand and operates the largest and most comprehensive hospital in this region.
