Second Medical English Seminar

Second Medical English Seminar was held on the topic of Patient Encounter Basics, aiming at acquiring skills required to conduct successful medical interviews in English speaking countries.

Patients come in different shapes and sizes, and speak different languages! Whether you work at home or abroad, there will come a time when you need to communicate in English. Oshimi sensei and Eric Jego sensei helped us learn how to sensitively handle a range of situations in consideration of the medical culture of patients. There are several key components of conducting effective medical interviews – English skills, verbal and non-verbal communication skills, listening skills, cultural awareness…… Everyone can develop skills through repeated practice!

Special Thanks to Oshimi sensei and Jego sensei for another highly informative seminar. Thanks to everyone who showed up despite the bad weather and snow. We hope 30+ participants identified skills they would like to incorporate into their practice.

See you in the next seminar on “Case Presentation Basics” starting at 18:15pm, Monday, February 2, 2015. ➡ 20150202 Seminar
